EXE fanwork - Laika sculpture [Aug. 6th, 2010|01:22 am]

First post here, and please tell me if I'm doin' it wrong D:

I've been an EXE fan since 2002, but only recently got into sculpture; this is my first attempt at EXE. As far as characters go, Laika's definitely pretty minor, but I'm a complete fangirl to each his own. I've also been commissioned for a Forte, although that might take me a couple of months to finish, but if I ever do I'll try to post that as well.

Pictures below the cut, and enjoy!

I wouldn't say that Laika is minor at all, especially once you hit Stream! He is one of the chosen 3 for Cross Fusion!

and then one of the chosen 7, and then 13, and...goddamn it, Duo D:

see, that's totally what I'd normally say - except when I bring this up to game-verse people they laugh at me and go "the anime isn't canon, what are you smoking", so I've temporarily given up trying to claim Laika as a major character. But it's good to find people who actually like anime-verse :o

This is a cool sculpture! Did you make him out of actual clay, or some sort of clay substitute like Sculpey? (I'm just curious since I know most people don't have access to a kiln, so there's no way for them to fire actual clay at the proper temperatures.)

Anyways, I look forward to (hopefully) seeing the Forte sculpture. :)

Yeah, Super Sculpey polymer clay. I guess it's not as hardcore as real clay, but it's not like I'm getting a kiln for Christmas. Plus, it's more or less plastic after it hardens, and I kinda like the pvc-figure look. Real clay, after glaze, tends to be all shiny and...ehh.

rambling. Anyway, thanks :D

Oh, I know what you mean. Some of the glazes I've used are too shiny/too dull, so they don't give you the look you want, which always bothered me. XD

You're welcome. :)
